About Bob Dorff
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
As a child he did extra work and bit parts in western movies at Republic Pictures then went into legitimate theater becoming one of the original members of Hollywood’s Player’s Ring Theater. He appeared in summer stock at the McClean Summer Theater in McLean, Virginia where actor James Coco was a featured player.
Following a sixteen month tour of duty in Korea, Sergeant Dorff was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
A few months later he was hired as a Story Analyst and Assistant Producer for PENNEBAKER, INC., Marlon Brando’s independent film company headquartered at Paramount Studios. He held that position for three and a half years before leaving the industry for an entirely new career selling international makes of heavy duty metal working machinery.
He has owned race horses since 1965. His horses won races in California, Illinois, Louisiana, Kentucky, Arizona and Mexico.
Dorff is an acknowledged expert on the JFK assassination which he began researching in 1974. He hosted seminars on the Kennedy Assassination investigation, one of which was attended by six former staff members of the House Select Committee on Assassinations. Dorff was invited to many similar events in Dallas as a panelist/moderator and wrote speeches for the legendary queen of assassination researchers, Mary Elizabeth Ferrell.
He hosted CONTROVERSY, a Century Cable television show, segments of which first aired in Los Angeles and were later shown in major cities including New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Austin and Miami. Some of his guests included authors: Anthony Summers, John Davis, David Lifton, former CIA Agent John Stockwell and many more.
He founded The Dorff Report, an information letter centered on the JFK investigation and related topics.
Dorff has two children by his first wife, actress and casting director Beverly Long. Both work in the motion picture industry. Matt Dorff is a screenwriter, his sister, Holly Dorff , has worked as an actress since she was two and a half.
Concurrent with the publication of his book 22 Days Hath November, Dorff was awarded the 2007 JFK LANCER-MARY FERRELL “Pioneer Award.” This is Bob Dorff’s first novel.
In 2010, Bob taught a course on the JFK assassination at the Yavapai Community College in Prescott, Arizona.
